My Life

If you’re like me, you like knowing a bit about the behind-the-scenes of the person you’re considering to work with.

It always seems, that my best clients point to something personal about me and my lifestyle as the clincher to choosing me as their marketing and private practice mentor. So here goes!
I live in the country.

THE VIEW FROM OUR PROPERTY

It has to be said, because it’s not the norm and it’s not for everyone.

We live in rural Washington County, NY on the border of southern Vermont, with a view of the Green Mountains, in the foothills of the Adirondacks.

When my friends visit, the most common response we hear is “this place feels good” and “I haven’t relaxed like this in a long time.”

That is our everyday. It’s pretty chill. I like it that way, as I think this business of mine (and the kids!) gives me all the excitement I need.

We love and appreciate the beauty of simplicity and nature.

You’ll find a modern farm-to-table vibe in everything I do.

I married the love of my life.

MY HUNKY HUBBY DREW

If you’ve ever seen the movie “Wonder Boys” starring Michael Douglas, there’s a line in that film that describes my hot and heavy love affair with my husband.

“She was a junkie for the written word. Lucky for me, I manufactured her drug of choice.” – Grady

Well there’s more to it than that, but he is a damn fine writer and expert in mastering the Law of Attraction lifestyle and that just turns me on.

He’s written three books (one with me) and is a bad-ass coach and with a PhD too. (I like smart men!)

People ask us how it is we can stand to work and live together, 24 hours a day, and not go crazy.

Well, it just works.

And we are very much opposites in many ways too.

He’s the mountain man that inspired this city-chick to leave the big city and enjoy the good life in the middle of nowhere.

We have two kids.

KIDDOS AT SCHROON LAKE

They are cute. (They make them cute so you keep them when they drive you bananas).

Alex and Ella are 4 and 2 respectively.

Being a mother is the most wonderful thing, and the most challenging thing, to me.

Mommyhood has changed everything about my business too.

Prior to Alex’s arrival, our first child, I was on the “fast track.”

Now, I rather enjoy life now, and focus on steadily creating a body of meaningful work that funds my real life.

And by he way, I’m not of the mindset that if you opt-out of having kids, you’re missing the boat.

I find that all women mother in different ways.

You’ll find an emphasis on designing your biz to fit your entire life, including family, in every business training I offer.

I am a Sister Goddess.

GIRLS RULE HERE. SOME PAST CLIENTS

I believe all women are Sisters and we are all expressions of the Divine. And we tend to forget that.

Doing big things in life, like starting and running a business based on your passion, requires Sisterhood.

I’ve studied with Regena Thomashauer at Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts. Twice. And I’ll go back for more as soon as I can.

You’ll find an emphasis on making your work and life pleasurable, fun and enjoyable now, in all of my business trainings.

Because you can’t suffer your way to the Dream Business and expect to create anything but more suffering.

More facts and quirks about moi.

I CAN FLY A KITE WITH ONE HAND. (FAMILY SPRING BREAK 2015)

I love studying herbalism and wild edibles. This hobby of mine appeals to my love for food, natural health and nature’s beauty.

I am a good reader. It’s my favorite past-time.

I was a health coach before I was a nutrition coach. Class of 2000 of The Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

I thought I was going to be an R.D. (Studied Dietetics in college than switched to English Lit to get the hell out of there and move on with my life.)

I was a horse gal. I exercised horses, worked as a groom and stable hand to pay for lessons, and practically lived “in the barn” until my mid-twenties.

I grew up in Northern Virginia. (NoVa for you locals).

French was my first language. I learned English in first grade when we moved from Quebec.

I love stationery stores. I can geek out about purple pens, good note cards and the importance of a hand written message.

I have a thing for old-timey hardware stores too. And I’m not at ALL handy.

I have very eclectic music taste. Except I’m not much into Hard Rock. (But I married a rocker. Go figure).

I never tire of Frank Sinatra tunes.

My favorite brands are Southwest Airlines (love their salty sense of humor), Amazon (my life in the country would not be the same without them!) and Nordstrom (it’s a class act).

I confess to occasionally watching and enjoying really bad, cheesy romantic movies on Hallmark Channel.

I love learning about the history of the Adirondacks. But only in the summertime, preferably by a lake.

Some see dead people. I see hidden opportunities for other people’s business everywhere.

I have dreams about my client’s businesses and often wake up with a full business plan all mapped out. Yeah, it’s weird.

If I didn’t do this for a living, I’d probably be in high-end food marketing. Or an astronomer.

I see myself as a translator between my clients and the marketplace. And my job is to get you two talking and listening to each other.

Let’s get you two talking, shall we? Get in touch and let’s do this.
